15 Days Lhasa Tour To Sacred Kailash Mansarovar 2017

Day 01
Arrival Kathmandu

Arrive at Kathmandu airport to start your tour to Kailas Mansarovar Yatra. Assisted transfer at the airport to the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Hotel Soaltee crown Plaza or Radisson (Twin Sharing)
Day 02
Temple Visit in Kathmandu

Breakfast in the hotel and then proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath Temple and Buddhanilkanth. Evening time free in Kathmandu till we arrange your visa for Tibet. Overnight at Hotel Soaltee crown Plaza or Radisson (Twin Sharing)
Day 03
Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa (3650 M) 1 Hr. 30 Minutes Flight

After breakfast get transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to board your flight to Lhasa, Tibet. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport, Lhasa the group shall meet our representative who will escort the group to the pre booked hotel in Lhasa. It will take about 2 hours for the group to reach the hotel. Spend the first day free to acclimatize with the altitude as Kathmandu is at 1300 m above sea level and Lhasa is at 3650m. Spend the Overnight at Hotel Manasarovar Or Similar ( 4 Star Category) in Lhasa(Twin Sharing).
Day 04
Lhasa - After Breakfast Takes A Tour Of Lhasa Visiting Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street And Shera Monestry

Jokhang Temple: The Jokhang Temple has undergone massive additions and reconstructions since the 7th century and particularly during the reign of 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. The Jokhang is the most celebrated temple in Tibet. Because the temple is not controlled by a particular sect of Tibetan Buddhism it attracts adherents of all the sects as well as followers of Bon-Po, Tibet's indigenous religion.

Barkhor Street: the center of the old Lhasa, Barkhor is a circular street, which is the oldest street in Lhasa and remains very traditional. It is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble and a place to which a visit must be paid. Barkhor is the road which pilgrims tramped out around Jokhang Temple through centuries. Buddhist pilgrims walk or progress by body-lengths along the street clockwise every day into deep night.

Shera Monestry: Shera Monestry was established in 1419. Number of Buddhist saints (Lama) are staying there and chanting of mantras. Shera is one of the biggest Monestry among Tibet and a worth seeing place to visit.
Day 05
Drive Lhasa to Shigatse (3900 M) - 350 Km/ 7-8 Hrs.

After breakfast take a drive to Shigatse which is the 2nd largest city of Tibet. Built in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama the Tashilunpo Monastery in Shigatse is a very important monastery in China as it is known as seat of the Panchan Lama. Overnight stay will be at Hotel Getsar or Similar Shigatse (Twin Sharing).
Day 06
Drive Shigatse to Saga: (4640 M) - 447 Km/ 7-8 Hrs.

After crossing the river "Yarling Tsangpo" known as Brahmaputra, to reach Saga (4600 m) 240 Kms./ 6 to 7 hours drive. Overnight at Saga Grand Western Post Hotel or Similar. (Twin Sharing).
Day 07
Drive Saga to Chui Gompa Lake Mansarovar (4560 M) 450 Km Drive: (8 to 9 Hrs.)

After breakfast, drive through Paryang (4750 m) 255 Kms/ 3 - 4 hrs. Have lunch on the way. Drive through the windswept territory passing many villages and camps of Yak herders with distance view of snow capped mountains. On this day the road is quite flat, hence the drive will be comfortable compared to other days. There after drive to Hor Quo (4560 m) 223 km/8 - 9 hrs. We continue driving crossing Mayum La pass (5200 m) today is the day of lifetime, as we will have the first sight (Darshan) of Holy Mt. Kailas and Holy Lake Mansarovar. We drive for Holy Lake Mansarovar Parikrama & enroute view Rakshas Tal, relax and meditate at Lake Mansarovar. We arrive at Chui Gompa. Overnight Parmarth Ashram or Similar Guest Houses/Dormitory.
Day 08
Lake Mansarovar to Darchen (45 Kms.) (4560 m)

Morning, Puja & Havan, and drive to Darchen. Overnight at Kailas Himalaya Hotel Darchen Dormitory.
Day 09
Drive To Tarboche (45 Km) And Trek To Dirapuk (4860 M) 12 Km/ 5 - 6 Hrs.

After breakfast, drive approx. 13 Kms. to Tarboche, the trek starting point of Kailas Parikrama. Tarboche is also known as the outer "Asthapath". The first day of our Kora is a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying. The trail leads us to few ups and downs till we reach our camp/guest house at Dirapuk (4860 m) 12 km/ 5 - 6 hours trek. Camping on the nice grassy meadows with a view of Kailas, North West face. Those not feeling themselves fit to continue Parikrama will drive back to Darchen and wait for the Parikrama group to return. Overnight in Guest House Dormitory.
Day 10
Continue Parikrama Over Dolma La Pass (5630 M) To Zuthul Phuk (4700 M) 19 Kms. /10-11 Hrs.

IToday our Circumbulation (Kora) leads to much higher side of the holy path just beneath the Holy Mount Kailas. The walk will bring us to one of the highest point at Dolma La, 5,630 m. before descending to the gradual field towards Zuthulpuk for the overnight stay after 5-6 hours walk. Zuthul Phuk (4700 m) 19 Kms. /10-11 Hrs. Overnight in Guest House Dormitory.
Day 11
Zuthulpuk to Darchen trek 10 km/ 3 to 4 hrs. And drive to Saga (4600 m)

The winding gradual tracks finally ends our holy pilgrimage walk 10 km/ 4 - 5 hrs. Once we reach at the trek end point near Darchen, our Luxury Bus will be waiting to take the group back to Saga by tracing our footsteps returning home leaving the Holy place. Overnight at Saga Grand Western Post Hotel or Similar. (Twin Sharing).
Day 12
Drive Saga to Shigatse:

Today, you will be transferred to Shigatse. It is named so because the water is very clear and in the color of blue for reflecting the sky. Upon arrival in Shigatse, check in at Hotel Getsar or Similar Shigatse (Twin Sharing).
Day 13
Drive Shigatse to Lhasa:

Today you'll drive back to Lhasa (5 hours) along the legendary Yaluzangbu River, the mother river of Tibet. Along the journey, you will view fantastic landscape of the valley and snow mountain, and get the special feeling of traveling in the wilderness, far from modern civilization. After a rest in Lhasa, Overnight Hotel Manasarovar or Similar (4 Star Category) in Lhasa (Twin Sharing).
Day 14
Lhasa to Ktm

Fly Lhasa to Kathmandu arriving by 11 am. Assisted transfer at the airport to the hotel. Overnight stay will be at Hotel Soaltee crown Plaza or Radisson (Twin Sharing)

Return To Home

Return to your home with memories of Sacred Kailas & Holy Lake Mansarovar.

Booking Conditions For Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Via: Lhasa For 2017
  • Booking shall be accepted with a non-refundable deposit of INR 1, 00,000 per person and NRI 1500 USD and remaining amount 60 days before the Yatra date.
  • Color Xerox copy of first and last page of Passport with minimum 6 months validity.
  • Booking Must be made minimum 75 days prior to each departure date.
Cancellation Policy For Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Via: Lhasa For 2017
  • Once a booking is made, the deposit fee is non-refundable.

  • Token Advance Amount of Rs. 1, 00,000 or NRI 1500 USD Forfeited Irrespective No. Of Days of Intimation.

  • 50% Cancellation from 30 days prior to departure.

  • 75% Cancellation from 20 days prior to departure.

  • 100% Cancellation from 10 days & below prior to departure.

  • Please send your cancellation in writing or by Email. Verbal cancellation will not be entertained.

  • All disputes regarding the conducting of the tour Subject of Jurisdiction at Ahmedabad (India).
Risk & Liability Of The Organizer
  • CHINA INDIA PILGRIMAGE SERVICE CENTRE Located in Lhasa , Tibet – China , the sole organizer for handling Indian Yatris travelling to Kailas Mansarovar has the right to reject Permit for the Group
  • Likewise, The TIBET TOURISM BUREAU Located in Lhasa , Tibet – China handling NRI & Foreign Nationals has the right to reject Permits for the Group
  • The Travel Organizer in India or Nepal shall not be responsible for any unforeseen changes made from Tibet, China side.
Special Notes
  • A Validity of Your Passport is 6 months before Yatra departure date & Indian Passport Holder must have your Original Election card during the Yatra.
  • Every pilgrim should arrange their own Air ticket to and from Kathmandu, Overseas Insurance cover and China Sim Card and RMB for Parikrama.
  • An experienced Nepali Guide will accompany you during Kailas Yatra.
  • The Tour Operator is not responsible for any delay in schedule of Yatra on account of some exccegiencies.
  • From June 2017 China Government has banned to permit of Yatra above the age of 65 years and also not allowed the Parikrama of Kailas above the age of 60 year. This rule may be binding for the Yatra during 2017 or not.
  • Rs. 5000/= per person as administrative charges will be deducted from the refund amount to yatri in case of China Government Refuses to issue Visa or Yatra Permit.

  • Walk slowly and speak less when going up
  • Make sure you eat properly at mealtimes; and drink lots of hot water (your body will need roughly double the amount of water than normal). Dehydration can cause mountain sickness, headaches, dizziness etc. Drink water before you feel thirsty. Always carry a water bottle.
  • During your car/Bus journeys, carry a torch with you and take a jumper in your hand. Weather conditions may change throughout the day.
  • You have been put in a group who will all travel together to Kailash.
  • Please always remember which Bus/jeep you are in, which team you are in & who your team leader is.
  • If you have any problems or feel ill/ sick etc, please report this to your team leader immediately.
  • When you speak to anyone about Kailash/Tibet, always refer to it as being in china.
  • It is very important that you are respectful to your drivers, to all the Sherpa's and to everyone you meet on your journey.
  • Please do not discuss any rumors about the political situation of the country or region.
  • Please do not discuss the Dalai Lama. This topic of conversation is not welcomed in China.
  • Traveling Kathmandu onwards, the accommodation will be extremely basic. Expect small, cold, but relatively clean rooms. Most guest houses have poor plumbing and hot water may not be available.
  • All rooms on the journey and in Kailash will be single sex rooms. Therefore, we will provide separate male and female rooms. This means you will not always be able to share a room with your marital partner if you are travelling together.
  • En-route most toilets are outside or nonexistent and as all Yatris do, you will need to find quiet spots when you stop.

  • Be extremely careful not to take photographs of airports and military bases. Pictures of bridges, civil unrest, or public demonstrations are also not allowed. Most monasteries and museums also restrict photography inside the buildings.


  • Our Yatra will take extra days to travel and rest so that our body can adjust to the oxygen levels. This process is called Altitude acclimatization.
  • Bring a water bottle and energy-drink packets to prevent dehydration. You should drink even if you do not feel thirsty.
  • Carry extra snacks, such as protein bars, to keep up your energy.
  • In August-September, expect wet weather. Days are unpredictable and nights are cold and frosty. Temperatures can be as high +10/+15 degrees Celsius with night temperatures reaching as low as -10/-15.
